A French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and Sévres Porcelain box Was $10,000 Now $6,500 Sale An elegant and elaborately decorated French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and Sévres Porcelain box. This charming oblong oval shaped lidded box is raised by four toupie shaped feet below ‘S’ scrolled acanthus leaves. The legs flank richly chased Ormolu double swaging berried laurel garlands held by a central rosette. The front and back sides are decorated by fitted central oval hand painted Sévres Porcelain plaques framed within circular Ormolu bands and side reeded panels. Each side of the jewelry casket displays a ‘C’ scrolled handle with a central rosette. The top rim is decorated by a Rais de Coeur designed band below the lid. The lid is fancifully decorated with a dome shaped Sévres Porcelain fitted insert framed within a floral Ormolu band.
